About Us

Great Western Oil and Gas Company, LLC (GWOG), is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with field operations based in Windsor, Colorado.  GWOG commenced activity late in 2005.  Initial test drilling was done to prove up 1,500 acres near Windsor.  This acreage was acquired as an outlying property to the large and proven Wattenberg Field. 

First production from the prolific Codell and Niobrara zones was seen in late January 2006. Since then, Great Western’s well count and production have increased four-fold due to aggressive drilling programs and the acquisition of additional acreage. Great Western’s experienced and dedicated team plays an integral part in its continued success and growth.

Great Western continues to look for medium-risk opportunities, weighted toward exploration, both in the DJ Basin and throughout Colorado, East Texas, and Wyoming.
